LANGLEY PARK VOLUNTEERS DAYS

A great opportunity to get involved and help restore this fantastic historic park.  Lots of fun, sociable, have a laugh, achieve something worthwhile.

No experience needed, you will learn lots of different types of countryside management techniques as you go along.  No prior commitment needed, just turn up on the day for as many hours as you choose and get stuck in!  For all ages and abilities.

Hot drinks and biscuits provided, but bring a packed lunch.  Wear old clothing, sturdy footwear and waterproofs.

Join the Rangers for a stroll through the vibrant Temple Gardens at the historically significant site of Langley Park.

Temple Gardens has undergone a great deal of renovation and this spring time walk will be the showcasing of months of hard work.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Members are invited to attend our AGM which will take place in the Meeting Room on the first floor of The Crooked Billet Restaurant at 7.30pm on Thursday 8th May.  The meeting will incorporate a Heritage Lottery Fund Project presentation by project manager Nick Lawrence, followed by a question and answer session and free drinks, tea, coffee and wine!  Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Come along for an enjoyable and informative evening.

TRIP TO NEW FOREST, EXBURY GARDENS AND SOUTH COAST

This is the Friends first organised outing, and promises to be a fantastic day out.  Provisional Itinerary below:

8.30-9.00am - Depart from Langley, George Green, Iver and Iver Heath in luxury mini-coach

10.30-12.00 - Visit to Lyndhurst, home of the New Forest Visitor Centre, where ponies, donkeys and cattle roam free. A stroll along the high street, refreshment stop and leg stretch

12.00-12.30 - Travel through the beautiful New Forest Countryside via Beaulieu to Exbury

12.30-3.30pm - Exbury Gardens - guided tour and free time to explore the grounds

4.00-5.00pm - A quick trip to Lepe Country Park with stunning views over the Solent to the Isle of White, and a walk along the beach to visit one of the main D-day launch sites

5.00-5.30pm - Travel to the Beaulieu Road Inn for evening refreshments before setting off home (we aim to be back between 8 and 9pm)

If you would like to join us please contact us for a booking form.  There are only 29 places, with priority to members, so please book and pay quickly.  The cost covers coach, entrance fees and gratuities - refreshments are not included.

'WE LOVE PARKS WEEK' - ORIENTEERING EVENT

Show your support for 'We Love Parks Week' and explore Langley Park's Orienteering Course.

Come equipped to explore; the course can take a couple of hours to complete.  Maps and advice are available from the Rangers in Langley Park car park between 10am and 12pm.

LANGLEY PARK FILM WALK

Langley Park has played host to a number of major film and television productions including Tomb Raider 2 and The Colour of Magic. 

So why not join us for an early evening stroll around some of Langley Park's film locations, and find out a bit more about the history and future of the park along the way!

A great family event for all ages.  Please bring waterproofs and sturdy footwear.   Approximately 1.5 hours. 

Booking in advance essential.  No unaccompanied children.

LION RAMPANT DISPLAY

One of the most popular events returns to Black Park!  The Lion Rampant capture the splendour, pageantry and romance of medieval life.  Skill and spectacle are combined with historic accuracy, the result is a great show for all the family, with plenty of audience interaction and fun.

Activities on display include archery, juggling, arming a knight, medieval singing and dancing, culminating in a spectacular medieval tournament.  Why not bring along a picnic and enjoy a memorable day in this beautiful park.

The Friends of Langley Park will have their stand nearby, with drinks, snacks, badge-making, raffle and childrens lucky dip.

ORIENTEERING DAY - LANGLEY COUNTRY PARK

This is your chance to try out Langley Park's exciting and challenging orienteering course, with Rangers out and about to help if needed.

Come equipped to explore; short and long courses available, which can take a couple of hours to complete.  An ideal family event.

Maps and advice are available from the Rangers in Langley Park car park, between 10am and 12pm.

No unaccompanied children please.
